The Lakeview RecPlex is a brand new 10-lane 50 meter facility slated to open on June 1st. We are proud and excited to host one of the first competitions in the facility. The 2010 Central Zone Championships are scheduled for the RecPlex and this is your opportunity to race in the finest aquatic facility in the area!

Mika Hlavin jumped on the Jr National train with a new qualifying time in the 200 IM, good for 9th place. She also posted a 20th place finish in the 100 fly.

LFSC Club High School Prep Program

We are very pleased and excited to announce the addition of Cindy Dell and Doug Lennox to the Coaching Staff for our new High School Prep Program. Cindy and Doug will join Jory Blauer, Laurel Liberty and Bill Senese in leading this special program.

Coach Cindy is a long-time fixture in the Lake Forest swimming community as the Head Coach for the highly successful Lake Forest High School Boys Team and as an age group coach with LFSC. Most recently Cindy guided Mitch Stoehr to double Gold Medals at the 2010 IHSA State Meet. Cindy has also been an Assistant Coach with the LFHS Girls Team and teaches competitive swimming during the summer at the Lake Forest Club.

Doug Lennox competed in the 2008 Olympics representing Puerto Rico. Doug swam at Princeton where he achieved All-America status and competed at the NCAA Division I Nationals. During his prep years he was an Illinois High School State Champion in the 100 butterfly. Swimmers in the HS Prep Program will benefit greatly from his enthusiasm and extensive international experience.

Mitch Stoehr let loose a commanding performance in the 200 freestyle at the IHSA State Championships today. Mitch stopped the clock in 1:38.52 to win his first-ever HS State title.

Mitch backed up his 200 up with a come-from-behind victory in the 100 freestyle (45.32).

The SwimFest features a unique 3-session format with events for 8&under, 9/10, 11/12 and Sr swimmers. Warm-up on Friday (11/12 and Sr) opens at 2:00pm with the first event making a splash at 3:00pm. Saturday sessions are scheduled for warm-up at 7:00am (8&under, Sr) and 1:00pm (9/10 and 11/12).
