    Illinois Swimming Honors Eight From LFSC

    Illinois Swimming honored it's top three swimmers in each event last weekend at the annual ISI Awards Banquet. The keynote speaker for the event was LFSC Alum and Olympic Gold Medallist Matt Grevers.

    Congratulations to Colin Kingsley, Mary Grace King, Elyse Jacobs, Summer Hemesath, Kalla Sturonas, Colin Kingsley, Nathan Gates, Levy Nathan on all of your great accomplishments in 2015 . . . best to all LFSC Ducks in 2016!

    Lake, Pond, Pool . . . LFSC has It Covered

    Congratulations to the mighty LFSC Open Water swimmers! We sent 7 swimmers to the Central Zone Open Water Championships last week and scored 47 of Team Illinois 408 points. Mary Grace King led the way with a top o' the podium performancein in the 10&under girls race, followed closely by Lauren Kingsley in 11th place.

    Colin Kingsley led the way for the boys with a 3rd place finish (11/12) while Nathan Gates captured 11th place in the 13/14 boys class. The LFSC Sr squad was led by strong performances over the 5k course by Elyse Jacobs (25th), Robin Bender (32nd) and Anna Manning (33rd).

    Full results are here. It's great to see some new faces on the Open Water team and we are looking to fill out all age groups in 2016. Coach Laurel, a member of the 2015 World Championship Open Water Team, will continue to spearhead our efforts; contact Coach Laurel if you would like to be a part of our OW team.
