    What’s Up DUCKS???

    Be sure to check the club calendar (http://www.swimlfsc.org/calendar/) regularly for any practice schedule updates.

    This week … Age Group Challenge Meet on Wed (Green/Yellow to LF College and Sr/Bronze to LFA).

    Coach Mo Update … Coach Mo is slowly getting herself back to practice and meet shape and we are looking forward to her return to the deck soon. She has been watching the meet results and is quite proud of the progress the team has made so far this season.

    We Did The Mash!!!

    The 2017 edition of the Monster Mash in in the books and once again it was A Graveyard Smash! Thanks to the support from our wonderful parent volunteers every swimmer had a great opportunity to showcase their early season efforts.

    New Meet Records were set by: Madison King, LFSC (8&under 25 Breast - 21.08), MaryGrace King, LFSC (11/12 50 Free - 26.05, 500 Free - 5:19.11, 50 Breast - 33.29). Lauren Malinowski, TOSA (Sr 50 Free - 24.89), Lily Reader, BSC (Sr 50 Fly - 26.96).

    Congratulations, Swimmers, and Thank You, Parent Volunteers from Coach Mo, Coach Laurel and Coach Michael … next up, the Windy City Open in January 2018!

    LFSC Duck-A-Thon … our annual Duck-A-Thon fundraiser has been a wonderful success and we will surpass our Goal of raising $6000. Thank You to everyone for your support! It looks like we will be able to purchase a new digital pace clock for use at LFA!

    Short Course Season Registration … Returning HS swimmers are reminded to complete registration and enter meets promptly. Remember to update any changes to contact information, payment options, and apparel sizing information (especially t-shirts) for your swimmer(s).

    Short Course season Meet Schedule …  our Meet Schedule is posted online and ready for sign up. Some information is still not available and will be posted ASAP. Each meet has an entry deadline which we must adhere to. Late entries, if accepted by the host, are assessed a $15/late entry fee.     Click here to go to the Events Page.

    LFSC Age Group Challenge Meets … our Age Group Challenge Meets are scheduled for the first Wed of each month at LF College. All Mighty Ducks, Yellow Squad and Green Squad swimmers should plan to participate. These are great intros to competition for inexperienced swimmers and a chance for more experienced swimmers to get in a little extra racing.

    Nov 17-19Barrington Suzy Gavars Invite … great racing before we Gobble, Gobble, Gobble! Recommended for swimmers in the Senior, Bronze, Green and Yellow Squads.

    Dec 8-10 – Indianapolis Team Travel – Jaguar Invite … another Team Travel Meet to the IUPUI Natatorium. Team Travel is always fun with great results in the pool and a special Team Dinner. Watch for more detailed information soon or send a note to coachlaurel@sbcglobal.net with questions.

    Dec 16 – LFSC Distance Duck Meet … swimmers in the Senior, Bronze, Green. Yellow Squads and experienced Mighty Ducks should plan to participate in this intra-squad meet at the college. Who will be next to wear the Distance Duck t-shirt?

    Jan 13-14LFSC Windy City Open …  our first competition of 2018 will be our own Windy City Open hosted at the RecPlex. All swimmers (except Mighty Ducks and Mini-Ducks) are expected to attend this meet.

    Feb 2-4 – Schroeder A+ Meet … we head out on the highway to Brown Deer (WI) for the Schroeder A+ Meet, always a top level regional competition.

    Feb 9-11HPAC Invite … This meet is recommended for swimmers in the Senior, Bronze, Green and Yellow Squads, and experienced Mighty Ducks.

    Feb 18-19Arlington Last Chance Meet …  this is the final qualifying opportunity for the Regional Championships and the final regular season competition. All swimmers who have not qualified for a Championship Meet should plan to attend this meet.

    Feb - MarChampionship Meet Season … details about Championship Meets are coming together and will be available soon. Watch the website for details.


    New Swimmer Evaluations Swimming with your friends is fun! New Swimmer Evaluations are scheduled by appointment with Coach Laurel at Lake Forest College.

    Please ask your swimming friends to contact Coach Laurel to schedule an evaluation. Don’t forget … we have a new member referral program that offers account credit when your friend joins the team.
